Cold Steel Safe Maker VS. Cold Steel Safe Keeper II

Cold Steel Safe Maker

Cold Steel Safe Keeper II

Cold Steel makes some of the very best push knives on the market.  The Cold Steel Safe Maker and the Cold Steel Safe Keeper II are similar in many ways.  But there are also some key differences.  Each of them are 6 3/8″ in total length.  The Safe Maker sports a larger blade.  The blade on the Safe Maker is 4 1/2″ long and the blade on the Safe Keeper II is 3 3/4″.  Each of them have a blade plenty long enough to get the job done.  The weight on the two knives is close enough to be negligible.  They are both made with an AUS 8A Stainless Steel Blade and they both have a Kraton Handle.  And, they each come with a very nice secure-ex sheath.  What is the biggest difference between these two push knives (aside from the blade length)?  The two biggest differences are the price and the overall feel of the knife.  The Safe Maker has an MSRP of $89.99 and the Safe Keeper II has an MSRP of $59.99.  You can buy either of them for less than that on our retail website.  The other main difference, the real key difference, is the “fit and finish” between the two knives.  Either one is going to accomplish handily the goal of providing a high quality self defense tool.  Both of them have the high quality construction that you would expect from a Cold Steel Knife.  But, the Safe Maker has, in my opinion, a much better shape blade.  And, I think the overall look and feel of the Safe Maker is well worth the price difference.  But in the end, if you are purchasing either of these knives for a self defense tool–you don’t care so much about the look as you do about the performance.  So if price is the biggest determining factor, the Safe Keeper II would be the route to go.  Whichever way you go, these defense knives will stand you in good stead.

ASP Expandable Batons

We just got these ASP Expandable batons in stock.  They are very nice.  Great for Police and other service personnel.  Would be a good home defense item also.  Each of these are made from heat treated 4140 high carbon steel for strength. Zinc Dichromate coated handles and chrome finish provide superior corrosion resistance. Lifetime factory warranty.  They come in a variety of different handle materials.  Check out the picture for more information on that.  We should be stocking the other sizes in the next few weeks.

ASP expandable batons offer significant advantages over other intermediate force weapons:

Easily carried and readily at hand
Unparalleled psychological deterrence
Low profile, improved public image
Easily Maintained
No sharp edges to abrade clothing or cut assailant
Better balance than traditional impact weapons

New TakeDown Tactical Pens

Just in today, we have new TakeDown Tactical Pens. These pens come in either an all black or in grey. You can also get them with either a glass breaker on the non writing end or you can get it with a hollow striker end. All four of these pens write in black and use a standard type pen refill that you can get at any office supply store. If you wanted, you could just switch out the color ink and then it would write in whatever color you choose.
What I like best about these pens is the fact that you can use them as small Kubitons if the need arises. So you have a practical pen that also doubles as a self defense tool.
