Favorite New CRKT Fixed Blade of 2014 — CRKT Synergist Quick Review

CRKT Synergist
CRKT Synergist Fixed Blade Knife, CR2070

My favorite new 2014 fixed blade from CRKT is the Synergist.  This great spear point dagger has everything I need and want in a small, back up fixed blade.  The blade is 8Cr13MoV stainless steel, which means the steel is good enough for heavy use and will be relatively easy to sharpen.  It has an extremely thin profile which makes it great for daily carry.  I don’t typically wear boots–but if I did, I would definitely boot carry this one every day.

It is a symmetrical knife that has identical finger grooves as well as finger choils.  Very comfortable in my hand, the knife also features a lanyard hole at the base of the handle.  Handle scales of black G-10 make for an ultra secure grip.  And the knife comes with a pressed leather sheath that has a belt clip on the back.

What do I love about the CRKT Synergist?  I especially like how thin the knife is.  It makes for a comfortable, concealed carry if that is allowed where you live.  I also like the blade shape–it allows for serious cutting tasks when the need arises.  This would also be a great back up knife to carry in your go bag.

What would I change?  Not much.  I would maybe like an option for a Kydex sheath.  I think this knife would be a great neck carry knife, but with the leather sheath that probably isn’t going to happen.   Maybe it is time to learn to build Kydex sheaths.  I’ve heard they are pretty easy to make…

Check out the CRKT Synergist on our website here.  And let me know what you think of it after you get yours.
